Actress sharmila Tagore is said to be born in a Hindu Bengali family in Hyderabad and her father was a deputy general manager of the British India Company owned Elgin mills. Sharmila Tagore started her acting career through the movie “Apur Sansar” which was a character of an ill fated bride. The movie portrayed the 14 year old sharmila Tagore in an intense role.
Then she was seen in series of films and then was seen in the movie “An evening in Paris’ opposite to shammi Kapoor and was seen in a two piece bikini in the film. Her name rose to fame, with the movie ‘Aardhana’ which featured her opposite to actor Rajesh Khanna. The actress was seen in some wet scenes and was a sex symbol in the film, which made her even more popular among the mass crowds.
From the year 1991, after a break of almost 9 years, actress Sharmila Tagore is again active in her acting career. The star has acted in the movie Mississippi Masala-1991, aashiq Awara-1993, Mann-1999, and Dhadkan in 2000 and so on.
